Yorba Linda, CA – National Rifle League (NRL), a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to accelerating the growth and education of precision rifle shooting through a range of outdoors-related public interest activities, announced new positions Executive Director and Managing Director of Match Operations, to lead the NRL Board of Directors.

NRL Co-founder and longtime Director of Match Operations, Tyler Frehner is stepping from a daily activity role to an advisor position within the organization as Executive Director. With his leadership background as a Fire Captain, and experience directing flagship precision rifle matches, Frehner has paved the way for the organization since 2016, creating a league where, match directors were empowered and had ability to change rules and vote in and exclude new events; resources were provided to help support putting on quality matches; a community was created, beyond just the competitions; and more youth and women were supported in getting involved. After all these accomplishments, he is moving to a role with much fewer daily responsibilities.

Succeeding Frehner, Director of Match Operations who held the role for the past three years and nine months, Satterlee will be supporting in the daily duties as Managing Director of Match Operations. He looks to influence the direction of the organization’s activities and to develop programs that will empower the community. Satterlee served the Country honorably for many years in an Elite Unit. Within the precision rifle community, he has been a member of the NRL Board of Directors since Q4 of 2018 helping to shape NRL’s match rules and regulations and has served as a Match Director and Representative of the organization’s activity in California. He is a highly accomplished match director, has been a top competitor for several years, and is a respected industry professional and ambassador.

“We are thrilled to have leaders with Tyler’s and Scott’s experience serving as our new Executive Director and Managing Director of Match Operations,” said Travis Ishida, President. “Tyler is responsible for spearheading the shape of what NRL is today and for aiding many of its accomplishments. We are fortunate to continue to have Tyler supporting from an advisor position. Scott will lead the way forward to grow NRL, while ensuring we continue to provide education and expertise to our members and expand their voice in the rapid growing precision rifle segment. Both have been active leaders, and we look forward to leveraging their energy and ideas to deliver on our ambitious growth goals in 2020 and beyond.”

“Tyler has a ton on his plate as a Fire Captain, as well as being a Father, and he has continuously done a huge amount for all of us. He has helped us build a platform that extends Precision Rifle education and competitions for all of us young, old, new, and experienced. I am honored to be here and am passionate to continue this collaborative mission with you all. His efforts will stand the test of time, without a doubt,” said Scott Satterlee. “As long as we keep the spirit of the matches and desires of the competitors balanced with the health of the organization, there is no limit to what we can achieve. On the national-level centerfire side, we are working on a new data initiative through our improved website catering to the athletes and community, bringing more exposure of the sport through creative multi-media efforts, and continuing successful programs as the Loaner Rifle Program. We will begin extending Education through the NRL Academy, supporting our Outreach Committee Chair Marchand Hovrud as she works with schools, enrolling more Youth involvement with Coldyn Cloud as our Young Gun Ambassador, and enrolling more Women involvement with Kili Lilly as our Woman’s Ambassador. We will persist to provide an outlet for the community to pit themselves against the best precision rifle competitors in the world and evaluate their skills. There are many great things in the works, and we are honored that each one of you are a part of all these new developments. I’m excited to serve you in any way I can with fairness and transparency.”

Satterlee and Frehner will assume these new positions at the start of the new Season. This team will be working alongside each other to ensure a smooth transition.
